Corrections are the most useful thing anybody sends. If a date, a chart position or a lineup change here is wrong, say which one and where the better figure comes from.
What this site is
An independent reference on Family, the English rock band formed in Leicester in 1966 and disbanded in 1973. It is not run by the band, by any of its members, or by any label that released their records.
Sending a correction
Every factual claim on this site is taken from the published record - the album articles each entry links to, the chart listings behind the peak positions - and where that record is silent the field is left empty rather than filled in from memory. That means gaps: no per-album labels, no complete tracklists, no producer credits, no instruments for three of the later members. All of those are open to being filled with a citable source.
Use the address below and name the page and the line. Requests to remove or amend factual material are read; requests to add promotional material are not.
Images on this site
Two kinds of picture appear here, and they are kept apart on purpose. The photographs of members come from Wikimedia Commons under licences that permit reuse with attribution, and the photographer and licence are named under each one and again on the picture credits page. Everything else - the sleeve plates, the section artwork, the instrument drawings - was made for this site. No album sleeve art is reproduced anywhere on it.
Questions about this site
Is this the official Family website?
No. It is an independent reference on the English rock band formed in Leicester in 1966, run by neither the band, its members, nor any label that released their records.
Can you pass a message to the band?
No. There is no line to any member of Family from here, and messages sent to this address are not forwarded to anyone.
How do I report a mistake?
Write to [email protected], name the page and the line, and say where the better figure comes from. A citable source is what makes a correction usable: a sleeve, a chart listing, a contemporary review.
Gaps are as welcome as errors. Several fields are deliberately empty - per-album labels, complete tracklists, instruments for three of the later members - and each one can be filled once there is a source for it.
Why are the album covers not shown?
The sleeve images in general circulation are held under terms that do not permit reuse here, so each album links to its own encyclopaedia article, where the real cover is visible, and carries a plate drawn for this archive instead.
Can I reuse the artwork from this site?
The drawn plates were made for this archive and are not offered for reuse. The photographs are not this site’s to license at all: take them from Wikimedia Commons under their own terms, which the credits page links for each file.
Do you sell records, tickets or merchandise?
No. Nothing on this site is for sale, and there is no shop, mailing list or ticket link anywhere on it.
